About Us

Topeka Crochet, or TopC for short, is a non-profit guild and currently* an unofficial Chapter of the Crochet Guild of America, whose purpose is to promote crochet in Topeka and the surrounding areas through exhibitions, crocheting for local charities, education, demonstrations, and workshops.

Our vision is to be an active part of the community, as well as to provide creative ways for crocheters to get together and share their craft with each other and those around them.

*Steps will soon be taken to make this chapter official with the Guild.

How do I become a member of this group?

Basically, just be involved on a level that suits your needs and schedule and fill out a contact form at one of our meetings. Dues are not an option at this time; however, that could change as the group grows and more perks are established for its membership.

Those who wish to take part have opportunities available to do charity work for the community. These are all done on a voluntary basis.

One does not have to be a member of the Crochet Guild of America to be part of this chapter. It is open to anyone who enjoys crochet and/or wants to learn more about it and make friends along the way. Teens are welcome as well. Younger participants should be accompanied by an adult.

Next Meeting:
Sunday, September 7
Menninger Room 206

Learn to use the Knifty Knitter Loom! Bring a round loom, some bulky yarn (or two skeins of worsted weight yarn), and a loom tool to learn how to make a basic loom knitted hat.

Those who don't wish to learn can spend the time with Crochet 'n Chat.

Book Club: We're currently reading Hooked on Murder and will have a book discussion sometime before the end of September.

Don't know how to crochet, but would like to learn? Contact us or bring a hook and some yarn to one of our meetings. Someone can help get you started, and lessons are also available.
